Red Dot trains 20 Marines and 12 Field Service Representatives (FSR’s) in the installation, charging and trouble shooting of the HMMWV kits. Each group spent a week in Seattle at corporate head quarters in intense training which included eight hours of theory, hands on installation of four different kits and six hours of charging and trouble shooting in Red Dot's environmental chamber which was set at 130 degrees F to simulate field conditions.

(Australia) Red Dot addresses the Gas Wire and Electric Convention regarding the latest in 152a refrigerant developments. Red Dot is working in conjunction with the Australian EPA in R152a research.

Red Dot delivers the first of several thousand HMMWV kits. Ninety days after being awarded this major contract Red Dot was able to custom design and manufactures the first kits exceeding the Army’s expectations. (For a related story click here)
January 2004 -
The US Army has chosen Red Dot to design and manufacture A/C systems for the HMMWV vehicles located in Iraq. These systems will be field installed. The Army has begun armoring the vehicles to protect the soldiers from roadside bombs and attacks. Enclosing our soldiers in this extremely hot environment makes air conditioning a necessity. This was covered in some detail in the Seattle Times.

Volvo Construction Korea has selected Red Dot to supply an A/C system for their medium sized excavator. The vehicles are produced in Korea.

Red Dot is awarded the Caterpillar Inc. Compact Wheel Loader. This vehicle will be produced at the Caterpillar Inc. Japan facility.

Red Dot selected as the primary supplier to the Volvo /Mack ALL
Makes replacement parts program. Volvo/Mack selected Red Dot because of its commitment to program support and product availability.

Red Dot selected by Caterpillar Inc. to provide its dealers with the first On and Off Road Parts program. This program will be marketed under the ALL PARTS brand and will cover ALL MAKES of vehicle name plates.

Red Dot is awarded the Caterpillar Inc. Skid Steer business. The Skid Steer industry is a fast growing market which will be a focus for Red Dot. This award is a major win for Red Dot and strengthens our strategic position with Caterpillar Inc..

Red Dot announces it’s “Lean Manufacturing” initiative. Red Dot will kick off this strategy beginning with training for all managers in January and have its first Kiezan event in February.
“Lean” utilizes a pull through manufacturing strategy that eliminates wasteful activities and maximizes throughput by increasing TAC time.
