Red Dot Corporation introduces the PP/F/P with Gideon® Technology, a powered filtration system designed to protect operators from harmful particulates and extend HVAC service intervals on machines with enclosed cabs. The PP/F/P 's powered precleaner is unique in the industry. Rather than air being pulled through a precleaner and filter from the HVAC fan motor's draw (thereby increasing airflow resistance), the PP/F/P actively pushes air into a precleaner (adding no resistance to the airflow), where the largest particles are ejected back into the environment using the patented Gideon® particle separation technology. Precleaned air then flows through the PP/F/P’s  filter where smaller particles are removed, passing high-quality clean air to the evaporator coils.

Older filtration technologies draw large quantities of dirty air over the filter. Red Dot’s PP/F/P is different because it removes particles from the air before the air reaches the filter. By providing only clean air to the evaporator coils, the HVAC system runs more efficiently and does not need to be serviced as often, increasing uptime and decreasing maintenance costs.

Because the HVAC filter is receiving clean air without added resistance, filter life is commonly extended 10-20 times. Red Dot recommends replacing the primary HVAC filter at 1,000 hours even if the resistance sensor has not indicated a filter change is needed.

Dust and other particulates are leading causes of premature HVAC component failure, especially the evaporator, which is responsible for absorbing heat in the cab and moving it outside. "By protecting the evaporator coils, the Red Dot PP/F/P promotes better HVAC performance and uptime," said Robert Gardiner, Red Dot’s marketing manager.

The PP/F/P's long-lasting filter options make it adaptable to a variety of industries and applications. The high-capacity (HC) filter meets MERV 8 standards, providing a general level of protection. Increasing in filtration levels is the DPM filter meets MERV 16 standards and is capable of dramatic reductions in harmful diesel particulate matter. The highest filtration level is provided by the high-efficiency (HE) filter, which delivers high efficiency particulate arresting or HEPA-level filtration.

Weighing only 11 pounds including the filter, the unit does not cause annoying vibration, as is common with heavier units. Its rugged monolithic construction of engineered polymer gives the unit the strength of steel without the weight. Motor options for 12 or 24 volt are available.
